Twelve Moons Coffee House

Twelve Moons Coffee House welcomes Ron Renninger, a veteran of the East Coast acoustic music scene. Ron found early success as a teenager in the 1960’s after landing a recording contract with his first band “The Basement Concession”. After moving to NY’s Greenwich Village, Ron soon expanded his musical horizons by rubbing elbows and jamming with such greats as David Bromberg, Jorma Kaukonen, Doc Watson, Chuck Berry, Tim Hardin and Taj Mahal. During a particularly exciting six month stretch, Ron played backup for Berry, jammed with Santana and had a one-on-one with Jimi Hendrix.

Dividing his time between Northern CA, Woodstock, NY, Manhattan and Vermont, Ron would soon begin honing his distinctive singing and songwriting skills. Along the way he found success composing music for prime-time network TV shows as well as becoming a sought-after studio musician on NY’s highly competitive recording circuit. Since then, Ron Renninger has shared the stage with Richie Havens, Lucinda Williams, Jesse Colin Young, John Hammond Jr., Lucy Kaplansky, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee and Christine Lavin. He’s performed in countless venues and festivals from Tampa to Tokyo to London; from Colorado’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival to NYC’s Bottom Line Club.  He’s released eight critically acclaimed CD’s, including the latest (May 2018) “Seeds of Possible”.
