Cynthia Zinser will present her figure studies and still life paintings in “Pulled into Light,” an exhibit at the Minor Memorial Library
The show will continue during regular library hours through Saturday, May 26, except when the Community Room is in use for a special library program. The library is open Mondays from 12 noon to 7 pm, Wednesdays from 10 am to 7 pm, Thursdays from noon to 5 pm, Fridays from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.
“Pulled into Light” refers to the artist’s attempt to move fish, fowl and game, the usual subjects of classical still life paintings, from darkness to light. Ms. Zinser says, “Mortality is not a dark theme; mortality is the most vital of subjects.” The lineage of themes and inspirations passed through generations of classical realist painters is a primary focus of the show.
Ms. Zinser’s paintings have won numerous awards, including those given by the Washington Art Association and the Watertown Art League, and are currently held in private collections throughout the US and in France.
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 14, 2 – 4 pm
