Oil and Water
In Woodbury

Oil and Water, a group show of oils and watercolors is on display at the Woodbury Public Library. In 2012, Diana “Nanny” Swoyer joined her friends, Kit Sagendorf, Maryellen Furse, Jan Grody, and Nancy Pistone, in the spring painting class with Marija McCarthy at Washington Art Association. Ms McCarthy’s wonderful watercolor/oil painting classes were very popular with students in the area for many years. Over the next few years, Hitchy Rahilly, Carol O’Toole, Jean O’Reilly and Sandy Dolinksy joined in. The group gave themselves the name Oil and Waterbecause they paint in both media.  The phrase often interpreted as “conflicted” as it’s the opposite of what they are. The mutual celebration of each artist’s talents is what the group is all about. Oil and Wateris on display during the library’s open hours.
