Garden Club & Library to Present
Karen Bussolini

Herbs are such beautiful plants, useful in the garden as well as kitchen, so why sequester them in the herb garden? Use herbs throughout the landscape, in flower gardens, in vegetable gardens (to attract pollinators and other beneficial insects), as ground covers, specimens, in containers. Liberate them from their traditional roles, use your imagination – and bring them into your daily life.

Come delve into the fascinating world of herbs, “Herb Liberation!” with Karen Bussolini, in a talk full of insight, practical advice, and gorgeous photographs. Join the Kent Memorial Library and the Kent Garden Club as they welcome this widely-published garden photographer, speaker, writer, NOFA-Accredited Organic Land Care Professional and eco-friendly garden coach on Saturday, February 24, 2:00 p.m. at the Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard, Kent. The event is open to the public with a $5.00 admission fee.

Karen Bussolini has been a gardener as long as she can remember. She trained as a painter and had a career as an architectural photographer before turning her attention entirely to gardens. Her work explores the many ways gardening connects us to our place on earth and to each other.

She will be happy to answer questions before, during and after her talk, and to sign or inscribe copies of her books, which will be for sale (cash or check). The Homeowner’s Complete Tree and Shrub Handbook ($29.95 softcover, $39.95 hardcover, plus tax) and The Naturescaping Workbook ($24.95 plus tax).

Garden photographer, writer, speaker and Eco-friendly garden coach Karen Bussolini is a lifelong organic gardener and lover of nature. Her slide talks, which combine beautiful original images, recent scientific findings, personal observations, hands-on experience and a touch of humor, have been well received from coast to coast.

Her photographs have been published in every major garden magazine and in hundreds of books. She frequently contributes photo/text packages to national magazines, notably The American Gardener (The American Horticultural Society) and Wildflower, (The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center). As a photographer, she has six books to her credit, including The Naturescaping Workbook: A Step-by-Step Guide for Bringing Nature to Your Backyard, The Homeowner’s Complete Tree and Shrub Handbook and Elegant Silvers which she also co-authored.
